Overview and Background
The Iowa College Aid LCAN Grant Series began in 2015 to support cross-sector leadership teams and networks dedicated to increasing college attainment in communities across Iowa. Iowa College Aid is seeking to bolster the continuation of LCAN work in previously-funded LCAN communities through the FY23 Supplemental Support Grant. Under the supplemental support grant, previously-funded LCANs may apply by invitation for one of two different types of awards: Special Projects and Events; or Coordinator Continuation.
Special Projects and Events Award
Maximum award: $10,000
Match requirement: 20% (cash or in-kind)
The Special Projects and Events Award is designed for previously-funded LCANs to convene around, plan and implement a special project or event in their community that promotes college awareness and attainment.
Examples include but are not limited to: College and Career Fairs; FAFSA Completion Events and Awareness Campaigns; and College and Career Readiness Conferences and Events (for students, community members, and/or educators). Both isolated (one-time) projects and events, as well as ongoing projects and events, will be considered for this award.
Coordinator Continuation Award
Maximum award: $20,000
Match requirement: 30% (cash or in-kind)
The Coordinator Continuation Award is for LCANs who are seeking to maintain a currently existing, dedicated, paid staff position to carry out the work of coordinating the LCAN. Funds may be applied to payroll, benefits, or contracted services for a contracted coordinator position.
Please note that indirect costs will not be reimbursed under this grant for either award type. However, indirect costs may be utilized as match for the grant under either award type.
