Description

The mission of the Iowa Intermediary Technical Assistance Center (IITAC) is to create consistent, equitable, and sustainable delivery of work-based learning opportunities across the state of Iowa.  Toward that end, the IITAC will support Iowa’s regional intermediary programs in implementing local and statewide efforts to improve and expand business and school access to services that provide opportunities for students to explore career opportunities in state and local industries and occupations.

The priorities set forth for the IITAC include:

  1. Increase the capacity of the Intermediary Network to provide work-based learning opportunities to all Iowa schools.

  2. Continue marketing efforts to improve visibility for local and statewide Intermediary services.

  3. Develop common data point language for reporting consistency.

  4. Support Intermediaries to identify and address gaps in services for both regional and statewide services.

  5. Support integrated strategic planning, evaluation, and dissemination of effective work-based deliverables for all students through advantageous, collaborative partnerships.

  6. Promote and support high levels of collaboration between Intermediaries to ensure continued growth in quality programming.

  7. Lead the effort for a statewide vision and strategic plan development to then guide regional Intermediaries to develop goals to align with the statewide plan.

This grant will be continued in FY23 with the determination that adequate progress on stated goals were met and availability of funds.

Performance Monitoring Strategy:

A status report will be submitted to the DE, via iowagrants.gov, detailing its ongoing implementation of meeting the following goals:

  1. Develop a diverse IITAC Steering Committee with a focus on increasing the quality of programming across the region by appropriate representation of the Intermediary Network.

  2. Develop a vision and strategic plan to guide local Intermediary goals to increase the equity and access of career exploration activities for students.

  3. Support professional development opportunities to increase quality programming and equitable access for students across the state.

  4. Showcase activities and work-based learning deliverables developed across the state and expand the implementation of best practices.

  5. Expand the types of events offered to respond to current needs by create a continuum of activities to broaden the reach of the Intermediaries to various levels of school aged youth.

Payment Provisions:

Funds will be distributed upon receipt of invoices (September 30, 2021, December 31, 2021, March 31, 2022 and June 30, 2022) and submission of status reports through IowaGrants.
